This will be a necessary aspect of the organization. Here are some starters as a draft for discussion purposes.

(1) membership must be applied for by all those who are or wish to seek income from or be employed as an adjuster

(2) membership is attained by application and successful attainment of one of the standardized levels of professional competency as set out by the Organization (Junior, Intermediate, Senior); and granting thereafter at the discretion of the Organization

An adjuster, as a member of the Organization shall;

(3) Commit fully to the Organization's Mission Statement and Code of Ethics

(4) Uphold and promote the Rules & Regulations of the Organization

(5) Acquire and maintain professional competence as set out in levels by the Organization

(6) Know and respect all laws pretaining to work as a professional adjuster

(7) Accept and provide appropriate professional review

(8) Honor all contracts, agreements and assigned responsibilities, that the adjuster is party to

(9) Help improve public understanding of insurance claims and the adjustment process

(10) Conduct all business with carriers or vendors in an atmosphere of good faith, devoid of any intentional misrepresentation

(11) Perform the services of an adjuster only in areas of their competence

(12) Undertake assignments only when qualified by education or experience in the specific technical fields involved

(13) Having any knowledge of an alleged violation of the Organization's Code of Ethics or Rules & Regulations by another adjuster, shall report to appropriate authorities, and cooperate with the proper authorities in furnishing such information or assistance as may be required

(14) Be thorough, objective and truthful in determining and reporting of cause, coverage and cost of assigned claims

(15) Disclose all known or potential conflicts of interest that could influence or appear to influence their judgement or the quality of their services

(16) Not promote their own interest at the expense of the dignity and integrity of the adjusting profession

(17) Continue their professional development throughout their adjusting career and should be current in their specialty fields by engaging in professional practice, participating in continuing education courses, reading of technical literature, and attending professional meetings and seminars

Yes Mr. Jackson, it was only meant to be a start.

If, in your view, you have noted imperfections or inadequacies, please give it the "needed work" and supply us with a revised draft for consideration.
